Our system is a beacon, attracting all the neighborhood kids. It is constantly in use, even on cold New England days. One of my sons noted the rim and backboard make the same "sounds" as he hears in college and pro games. Every adult, from our neighbors to the postman, has remarked that they wished they had this when they were a kid. The person who installed it for us said it was the best one he had ever seen.

I purchased this for myself and my children. It was very easy to assemble however I would definitely reccomend having a minimum of 3 physically fit people ready when it is time to attache the back board. The quality is superior. I have been using this system for almost a year now and it is everything that the company says it is. The only aspect of the system that I do not like is the top pane on the rim where it meets the backboard is at a wierd angle and it negatively affects the ball when it comes in contact with it. I am not sure if it is a defect in the rim or not. I am looking at the rims on other systems now to compare. All-in-all this system is far superior to others that are out there.

MANUFACTURER RESPONSE:
The "Awkward panel on rim" you're speaking of is not a defect and is there by design to keep the ball from getting stuck between the glass and rim. You'll see this feature on any true gymnasium quality rim. Many residential-grade systems do not include this feature. Example 1, Example 2, Example 3

The kids have not stopped playing on it since i put it up,they love how easy it is to lower so they can act like there favorite players in the nba and dunk. The goal and back board give you that feeling just like you are in the gym.

Our church decided on the platinum goals for their ruggedness and excellence. They not only look great, but they play great too! The ball responds wonderfully off the backboard and the rim, which has just enough give to be forgiving while still handling the rigors of consistent play and the occasional slam dunk. Overall, we could not be more satisfied. These goals perform great, are easy to operate and great looking, and are worth every penny!

Purchased two of these systems for a sports practice facility I opened. They work great, are solid, and are a good investment. The system does not move when you put a shot off the backboard -- love how solid it feels. It does take a while to get the system from a lower height to standard 10', but an 8 year old can do it.

I'm a residential user with two young boys who love to shoot hoops. The hoops is solid and great quality. The adjustable hoop is so easy to use my 7 yr old lifts and lowers this huge backboard. Great product.

I have 5 boys and they love this goal. The first weekend we put it up, I had 21 boys playing basketball all day & night. This goal is easy to put together and easy to adjust. My 3 yr old son can raise it up & down. If you are serious about basketball, I highly recommend this goal.

Fairly easy to set up, however, you need a bit of muscle to handle the backboard install. I installed it with a buddy in about 2.5 hours after pouring the footing. We poured a 3'x3'x3.5' footing just because I wanted to make sure it had solid ground. The 1'x1'x4' footing described in the directions (which could be a bit more clear) didn't seem adequate to me. Other than that, it definitely has a great professional feel. We love playing with a regulation sized glass backboard that gives a true rebound. I stand about 6' 3" and 280 lbs. and can dunk on it with ease and the rim and backboard acts like it is nothing! Great buy and I recommend it to any one. One flaw, however, the height adjustment indicator sticker that comes with the unit is not calibrated correctly and the company informed me they have no intentions of fixing it, as they are completely aware of it.

My sons who play competitively say there is no difference between this hoop and what they've used in a number of high school gyms. The younger kids love to play dunk-ball on the sub 5' hoop. It really is simple to set up. The hardest part was digging the hole.

Would like to see a higher gear ratio or adapter for a cordless drill to decrease the time it takes to move the backboard up and down.(we move ours almost daily, and thats a lot of crankin') Otherwise superbly constructed, couldn't be happier. Nice job guys!

After working extremely hard during the week, the guys let loose and shoot some hoops on Friday. They can walk right out our back door and relax for a bit by playing a little basketball. Our regulation backboard is amazing and being able to adjust the height is perfect!

The pro-dunk Platinum is made of higher gauge metal than those other high-end models you see at Dick's. The glass is also thicker than all but the top-of-the line models at Dicks. Plus, it is made of one piece of metal that everything leverages off of. We did use much more rebar in the concrete plug than what was included because I tend to over-build everything I do. We used 1.5 yards of concrete which is also much more than required. I did the install myself, but it did take 4 people to connect the backboard. I think on the video they showed only 2. I think you could lift a car with this thing. We did do the upgrade for the stainless metal bolts and we have no rust after 1 year here in the Pacific NW.

I use the system for recreational purpose and for shoot around ..the system is incredibly easy to adjust my 11 yr old does it ..the height adjustment is perfect for the little guys just a great system very satisfied and enjoyable ..

I have had Lifetime in-the-ground basketball system. After a couple of years the pole started to rust and it became hard to adjust. This system is far above Lifetime's best.

we have lived in our home for 7 years. with the economy and housing market dropping the same month we bought, we didn't have the funds to do anyhting to our very nice sized yard. we debated putting in a court for the past year but decided to do it. this court has completey changed our family time. i have a 10,7 and 6 year old (boy,girl,boy) and all of us enjoy it. we are able to use the area for other sports as well but this is the primary sport. we have had it just 2 short months but have entertained 3 parties already where this was hte attraction.

The construction quality is very heavy duty. Did come packaged well, though the post had scuffs to baremetal that I was told to touch up with paint. I purchased the rust armor upgrade, but was assured this wouldnt affect the warranty. Had some other minor issues with shipping etc, but the guys at Pro Dunk were fast to correct the problems and make everything right! I have purchased other brand kits in the past and this is more sturdy than anything you can buy in the box stores at the same price point. This could hold the weight of a gorilla hanging on it if it had to when others I know would fail. Best of all, if I move the hoop can be unbolted from the ground and relocated which is an added plus.

Great product! My 8,5,3 y/o children love it! Even the 3 year old can make shots. It's amazingly durable! Only con: backboard not real "responsive" at low levels(6 ft) but is perfectly "responsive" at 8-10 ft. This is an amazing product that does NOT have the huge marketing campaign of the others but is more cost-effective and more durable than its counterparts. Happy shopping!

The entire family loves our Platinum System. I'm confident it will be with us past the college graduation of our 6 and 3 year old boys. Everyone who shoots even one hoop is impressed. So happy we went with Pro Dunk Hoops. Thanks to our neighbor. After 1 minute playing in their driveway, we were sold

This is the top of the line product. If you want a hoop that will last for a long time and that will allow you to practice, practice, and practice, then this is it. It is not the least expensive on the market, but you get what you pay for..Also, this will provide years of fun shooting around with the kids..

Great for all ages, so good to see little kids being able to have a hoop within reach, then jack it up for a game for the serious players. When people come by our place they know we care about quality by what the see at our court which is one of the first things they notice.

Pro Dunk Platinum is of very high quality. Backboard is extremely clear, supports and pole of very high grade steel, basket does not move at all when ball hits it. Overall, its a gorgeous set up that is haed and shoulders above all the store bought systems in my neighborhood. Could not be happier with it.

My family and friends all love the platinum version that we purchased. Do it yourself setup did take some sweat but it was well worth it when I see my son's game improving daily. The 4 ft overhang is awesome and the quality of materials was as advertised. Love the rebound off the backboard, just like in the gym. The raising and lowering of the hoop does take some time, but it's easy enough for my young son to do. I would definitely recommend this product if you are in the market for a top of the line hoop system.
